Honeywell Safety Products (HSP) is part of the Honeywell Life Safety (HLS) business, and one of the most diversified manufacturers of Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the world. We provide the broadest line of PPE available - from body protection with shoes and gloves to fall protection, Hearing, hearing protection or eyewear. Our Hearing product line offers a wide range of products including earplugs, passive earmuffs, electronic earmuffs and other advanced hearing protection devices. We work closely with distributors and end users alike through innovative product design, quality manufacturing, solid marketing, training and support to our customers. Our goal is to enhance worker safety, improve productivity, and create confidence in both the workplace and the market place.



We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Hearing Research, Development and Engineering Function within the EMEAI Region. This position will be responsible for providing the vision, leadership, and management of the RD&E activities of our Hearing business.
The incumbent will partner with the EMEAI Hearing cross-functional team to support the delivery of the business revenue and profitability targets included in business Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan. He will ensure that all the projects in the region are properly staffed and that the technical risks are managed successfully.

This position will report directly to the Director of Engineering for HSP EMEAI and dotted line to the Head, Eye, Face and Hearing Regional Product Line General Manager.

Main Responsibilities:
Ensure effective and efficient design, development, validation and launch of reliable Hearing products in accordance with Honeywell’s NPI process.
Ensure that products meet or exceed applicable regulations, certifications, and liability requirements.
Contribute to the development of a solid Hearing product line roadmap; define a strategic plan for product innovation and exploration of advanced technologies.
Build an effective team that is committed to organizational goals and fosters collaboration among team members and between teams.
Drive engineering excellence and improved quality levels with reliability engineering best practices and Six Sigma methodologies.
Support Velocity Portfolio Development (VPD) with a good adherence to the New Product Introduction and PAC processes and with strong program management discipline.
Ensure on-time, on budget and quality new product introduction deliveries aligned with AOP and STRAP plans.
Actively engage in building strong partnerships both internal (regional hearing teams) and external (customers and suppliers) partners.
Lead Research, Development and Engineering personnel, expense budget, and capital expense budget programs to achieve company objectives. Controls cost and maximize productivity through the utilization of effective tools, processes and products.
Partner with Hearing R&D Leaders from Americas and Asia-Pacific regions on specific Global projects to ensure the most effective utilization of our global engineering resources.
Be the change management leader and demonstrate value from the agreed upon initiatives and strategic global platform approach.
Maintain customer satisfaction at acceptable levels by delivering the proposed value and promptly resolving customer issues which involve Product design.
Assist and guide attorneys on intellectual property issues (production of documents, reviews, competitive knowledge) to control cost. Manage the intellectual property (IP) assets of Honeywell Hearing EMEAI.
Evaluate and participate in new external business acquisition opportunities for Honeywell that brings new technology to the Honeywell Hearing product line.

Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
Acoustics, Signal Processing or Electronics Engineering Degree (PhD or Master)
A minimum of 10 years of experience in Senior engineering management, preferably in an international environment.
Demonstrated ability to deliver robust, reliable and safety critical products in a highly regulated environment (5 years min).
Experience in the design and development of electro-mechanical devices, communication systems and/or audio headsets is desirable.
Reliability and safety engineering (fault tree analysis, risk assessment, accelerated life testing, etc.).
Six Sigma expert level (black belt or lean master) is a plus
Strong project management skills are required to evaluate project schedules and to provide training & mentoring as needed.
Business fluent in English (written and spoken)
